Abstract

Non-Muslims, whether they are idolaters, infidels, enemies of Islam, bound by some contract or living as Dhimmis in a Muslim state, they, in Islam, are not subject to any unjust and violent act on the pretext of their belonging to any other religion than Islam rather it makes the provision of all the basic rights possible that are the prerogatives, based on peace, love and security, of every citizen as a human being. In an Islamic state, it is the duty of the government to ensure the protection of life and property of the non-Muslims. Non-Muslims, there, are given freedom to exercise their religious practices and, despite religious sectarianism in the country, their worship places are also to be protected by the Muslim government. They are not to meet discriminatory treatment in judicial proceedings and decision-making in the court. Muslims are to abide by high moral values during their social interaction with the non-Muslims.
