Political instability has long plagued Pakistan and much of the Muslim world, where institutional fragility, democratic stagnation, and public disillusionment have undermined progress. Corruption, political polarization, and a lack of civic responsibility have further eroded public trust. This research explores the hypothesis that a principled and proactive role by media and civil society—rooted in transparency, ethics, and public engagement—can significantly contribute to democratic stability. The study adopts an analytical-comparative methodology, drawing on Quranic injunctions, Prophetic traditions, and insights from Islamic scholars such as Yusuf al- Qaradawi, Imam al-Ghazali, and Ibn Khaldun, alongside global case studies from Tunisia, Turkey, and Sweden. It integrates original Arabic, Urdu, and English sources, supplemented with translation and critical analysis, to construct a multi-dimensional perspective.Unlike conventional studies that analyze media and civil society separately, this research presents a comprehensive framework showing their interconnected potential in stabilizing democratic processes in Muslim societies. It not only diagnoses the causes of instability but also offers actionable policy recommendations, including the implementation of a media code of ethics, institutional capacity-building for civil society, and strategies for state transparency and accountability. The paper positions itself as a unique contribution to contemporary Islamic political thought by combining classical sources with modern governance models, ultimately advocating for a value-based, participatory, and just political order.
