Protection of Youth Character in the Light of the Prophetic Seerah : An Analytical Study

Abstract

Young people are the true custodians of a nation's intellectual vitality, moral strength, and cultural identity. The strength of their character serves as the foundation of a righteous society and the guarantee of a prosperous future. In the contemporary era, rapid scientific advancement, digital communication technologies, cultural globalization, intellectual confusion, and moral uncertainty have exposed the younger generation to numerous unprecedented challenges. Consequently, the preservation of their moral character has become a matter of great significance and urgent concern. Materialism, excessive individualism, irresponsible freedom, purposeless entertainment, the negative influence of digital media, and the gradual erosion of social values have become major obstacles to the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of youth. Under such circumstances, theoretical discussions and legal measures alone cannot adequately address this crisis. Rather, there is a pressing need for a comprehensive and practical model capable of strengthening the human personality from within, refining moral conduct, cultivating balanced thinking, and aligning human behavior with the highest ethical values. Such a complete and everlasting model is embodied in the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The Prophetic model presents faith, honesty, chastity, modesty, trustworthiness, truthfulness, justice, patience, compassion, self-accountability, responsibility, and service to humanity not merely as theoretical ideals but as practical principles implemented throughout every aspect of life. The Seerah of the Prophet (ﷺ) develops the personality of young people in such a way that they acquire intellectual maturity, moral integrity, social responsibility, and spiritual excellence, enabling them to contribute positively in every sphere of life. This research, entitled "Preservation of Youth Character in the Light of the Prophetic Seerah: An Analytical Study," seeks to examine, through an academic and analytical approach, how the teachings and exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) provide a comprehensive, practical, and enduring framework for safeguarding the moral character of youth, developing balanced personalities, and establishing a dignified and value-based Islamic society in the face of contemporary moral challenges.
