Abstract

The Muslim Ummah is currently facing some of the most pressing challenges, including military weakness, diplomatic disunity, and internal divisions. For decades, Muslim nations across the world have struggled with internal unrest, external invasions, and failure to play an effective role in global politics. In these circumstances, the Prophetic Seerah (biography of the Prophet ﷺ) provides us with complete guidance, offering a model for a sustainable defense system and successful diplomatic strategy. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ laid the foundation of the state of Madinah on the principles of mutual unity, the Charter of Madinah, and peaceful coexistence with all communities. He organized the Muslim community, strengthened defensive measures, and established a coherent system through treaties with various tribes. Similarly, on the diplomatic front, the Prophet ﷺ sent letters to kings and rulers, dispatched envoys, and promoted international relations. Historic agreements such as the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah highlighted the depth and insight of Prophetic diplomacy. For the contemporary Muslim world, the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ serves as a practical example. By following it, internal unity can be achieved, and a meaningful diplomatic role can be played at the global level. This research aims to explore how the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ can be used as a foundation for the Muslim Ummah to adopt a strong defensive alliance and an honorable diplomatic strategy. This paper is significant in that it can provide intellectual direction to Muslims, encouraging them to set aside differences and unite under the guidance of Prophetic wisdom.
